LIGHTWORKER'S WAY~ Part 10

A COCKTAIL OF PROTECTION - PART 1:  The Prelude

Greetings fellow truth seekers! Summer is finally here.  The earth, our bodies and our minds reach a different level of energy at this time and thus become more connected and active with each other.  Under this nurturing and powerful sun of ours, we are repeatedly warned to protect our bodies from the affects of its force. We are rarely warned about protecting our bodies, minds and souls from the affects of energetic infringement.

Those who are born with gifts to use during these challenging times of change are also vulnerable to negative interference.  At a subconscious and sometimes even conscious level, we as humans being will travel our path stealing others’ energy as we go.  Most of us have learned ways to achieve this in our formative years from others older than us.  It would make sense that those of us with gifts – those of us who may shine brighter – are seen to have more of what others want.

So, what and who do you need to protect yourself from, you might ask?

As in life, so is in the afterlife, where there is positive that is there to assist and guide us, so is the negative trying to sabotage and stop us; nothing to be particularly afraid of.  It is just the way it is.  We often might say here, “that’s life,” so let me just add to this, “and that’s afterlife.”  Also, as one who has chosen to do great and purposeful things in this lifetime during these significant years, also chooses a life filled with constant challenge, conflict and chaos which may result at times in feelings of frustration, exhaustion, a sense of apathy and even depression – feeling the illusion of not being able to catch one’s breath and being in control of one’s life.  During these times there is even more vulnerability for negative energies to take advantage.

As you realize you have naturally high levels of positive energies and continue to heighten and maintain these energies, combined with the natural desire to help others, you will have to create a regular regiment of energetic protection.  People on this side of the veil – those in the 3rd dimension, or more commonly known as the living or in physical body, are subsequently attracted to your energy and want to be a part of it.  Also, there are those in the 4th dimension, the earthbound spirits, who will want to feed off the abundance of “your good stuff”.  For these reasons, it is important to daily strengthen yourself, take back your given energy, ground and center yourself.

As I’ve mentioned in previous months, we all have the right to hold within our hearts our own set of beliefs about what and who we are and what is to come.  Similarly, we all have the right – even the need – to choose our own methods of protection.

In April of 2009, I took ill with a mysterious condition, rendering me bed ridden for 2 weeks and taking another week to slowly recover.  During this time, I intuitively knew that the nausea, crying, pain, swelling, and bruising that covered my legs, feet, arms and hands were not of a medical origin but a result of my newly found awareness of who I was and the environment I lived in.  Instead of seeing a doctor, I immersed myself with blind faith in articles on the internet that explained I was either under psychic attack or my body and mind were undergoing an extreme fast-tracking of the expelling of physical and emotional toxins to heighten my energy vibration.  This heightening, I’ve come to realize in hindsight, has been needed to travel the current path I am on.   During those weeks, the month prior and the months that followed, I found that although I was inundated with suggestions and advice from local experts on how to protect myself from the overwhelming spirit contact, I had to decide for myself what I was to use on a regular basis and for those moments of additional need.  For this reason, I’ve learned that all I can do – all any of us can do – is offer others what I like to call a master list of options and let the other personalize their own Cocktail of Protection.

When connecting, communicating and working with both worlds – the living and the spirit worlds – I find it helpful to consider the similarities and the differences between the two:
Some similarities

  • Both worlds act and react based on emotions
  • Both worlds respond to the Law of Attraction; that is, we can cause influence on both with our thoughts and intentions
  • There is a ying and yang in both worlds – those of the light and those of the darkness

Some differences

  • In my observation and experience, like attracts like in the spirit world and quite often opposites attract in the world of the living
  • You can’t hide from the spirit world, with either your body or your mind (if one of your coping skills is avoidance)

In the next several months, I’ll be sharing with you the different ways to protect one’s self during these times of challenge and change.  I’ve found that while there are many approaches, they can all be first split into two main categories – the internal and external protections – that is, ways to protect ourselves using our own minds and bodies and ways to protect using our environment.  This list of methods, of course, is not a complete list but a wide variety that one can choose from based on what intuitively feels compatible.
Using:

  • Your belief system
  • Your emotions and thoughts
  • Meditation
  • Boundaries
  • Laughter and love
  • Herbs, stones, crystals
  • Talismans and other objects
  • Protective spirits
  • Support system

When considering what is right for you, please remember that the simple, bottom line here is….whatever you believe will work, will work

Love and Light, my friends xo, Christine

Carl David Onofrio provides us with a perspective on vegetarianism. I do believe that most spiritual beings have or do grapple with this issue. Here is his grappling.

A Musing on Vegetarianism

(minus the label, I don’t like labels)

1.  I resolve to become enlightened for the sake of all living beings (from a cookbook for a sacred life)

In Tibet I’ve heard they dig around the worms when they’re building the foundation.  It takes forever but they don’t sacrafice Karma for expedience.

Am I eating myself to bad Karma?

Brasa is the most popular restaurant in Niagara Falls.   They slice shanks of meat en masse to the delight of the gorging public.

Where does that meat come from?

Animals obviously, but what kind of animals?

                    or

        How are these animals treated?

I don’t know precisely but... “enough with your philosophical inquiry.  Watch some videos of how those animals are treated.”, my girlfriend Emily chimes in.

I have watched those videos.  Those animals are treated with no dignity.  They are systematically destroyed to satisfy the outrageous consumption of the Brasa going public.

She says, “like some sort of genocide.” and expands on this point.  Beings reduced to commodities for our hedonism.

And so, with this line of thought springing up from the simple question of whether I will have peameal bacon on my breakfast sandwich, it is not far off from the day I say “no thanks” to animal meat.

Today, however, I thank the noble pig for the life force that he adds to my day, and the deliciousness he adds to my breakfast sandwich.  I hope that his being was treated with something like love or compassion or at least appreciation.  If it was not, my apologies on behalf of my human brothers and sisters.

“You still ate it though!  What does your apology mean?”

I’m admitting my culpability but... may I point out a long line of ancestry that does and did what I do.  Eat meat.  Why is it bad?

“That pig was probably kept in a tiny cage with other pigs before it was slaughtered and you ate it.  I doubt there was any dignity.”

I am faced with a choice of conscience.  Do I stop ingesting the life force of other animals for the sake of all living beings and my own spiritual development?

“Pigs are smart animals!  People don’t know how smart they are.  I’m not just saying that... my friend did a project on them in grade 4.  They don’t just roll in poop, they use it as sunscreen.”

To each their own.  What seems intelligent from one perspective might seem questionable from another perspective.  I choose to pursue harmony within my own being and with my being in this here big blue world.  While this choice might eventually lead me to lose my appetite for meat out of compassion for animals, I have no plans to use poop as sunscreen.

C.D. Onofrio is a songwriter, musician and poet based out of wonderful Niagara Falls.    He likes playing music, cooking, listening to music, hiking, baseball, thinking about music, reading, dreaming, recording music, metaphysics, scheming, the sound metal bottle lids make when you pop them, kissing, singing, frisbee, and pool volleyball.  He dislikes cynicism, greed, killing,  pushy people, self-loathing, apathy, hearing country music at a sushi restaurant, and zoos.

His first poetry compilation “Visions of a Rainbow Bridge” is set to be released July 16, 2011.

Our Deepest Fear

Hi Jewelee,

I am stuck as to how to move forward and find my life's purpose, any help as to how to proceed would be greatly appreciated?

I was thinking that I should be working as I've been a stay-at-home Mom and feel I should be doing something outside of that. I started ollecting a lot of Crystals, as I felt drawn to them and I am reading up on Energy Healing. I don't know if I am capable as I'm just not sure what I can do.
Thanks,
Sue

Sue:

Thanks for the clarification for your question.  Its funny because as much as I see you as a good mom that loves her kids and is hands on, I don't see you working with kids in any way.

You are right in the sense of it is time for you to "do" something.  I see that you have been home with the kids for a while and have all this pent up energy and you are looking for adventure and to learn something new.  I do have spiritual cards meaning that you are on the right track as far as crystals, energy work etc.

I am not getting specifics as to which area just anything spiritual but it has to be outside the box.  By this I mean that you can't be sitting in a small office doing healings on one client after another.  I get that at this time in your life it is a time for movement and high energy.  Meaning if you took classes in something that interests you such as crystal healing you would not be sitting in an office working, you should think about taking the business on
the road making it portable so that you have a change.

You might consider trade shows, teaching, sales etc.  Anything where you are working with people but constantly in motion.  You would be better working each day at a different place than working for the same place each day.  I tried to pinpoint for you a direction and I have to be honest and say I'm just not able to pinpoint it.  I really don't think it matters which direction you go in because when you get motivated you are like a freight train going forward and will learn anything.  You need the challenge and you may find that you
expand or change directions more than once.

The best starting point seems to be what you are already interested in.  Learn as much as you can, take some reasonably priced classes and see what interests you most and if you can find a way to do something you enjoy.  I do teach classes at the store and you are more than welcome to give me a call and I can let you know what I have coming up and when.
