What has brought you to this work?

This might start back in the 1980 when I was born or 2010 when I took the leap of faith and decided to move to Canada. What might be of the readers’ interest is this second part of finding myself and the only way or the best way to do that is by being by yourself. So, I decided I’ll go through this alone. I left my whole family (son, mother & brother) behind me, my friends and loves..Being confronted with the unknown, while dealing with homesick, son-sick & other known and unknown pains and griefs, I was sure about one thing, while I waited for this situation or status to be resolved I’ll commit to a lifestyle of staying healthy, both physically and emotionally. I spent a year learning about the yogic lifestyle and how to pass the knowledge to other human fellows. After I received my certification I also finished one part of my immigration process and that’s when I decided to move to Niagara Falls. I didn’t know anybody or have a job, but I was determined that this was my moving forward point. And I wasn’t wrong. I met my counterpart, my best friend, lover, partner and thanks to him I’ve started teaching yoga on regular basis. Also, now I’ve my family with me. My son started high school at Stamford, happy for this new chapter. Being joyful is my norm again!

What services do you offer and how do they assist others?

At Ganesha We treat Yoga as the Science of Right Living. We strive to break the limitations of the illusion that we are separate with an intention to experience the oneness of the existence and that is the prime goal of yoga.
Hatha Yoga
Practicing traditional Yoga is the character of every class at Ganesha. We balance our two energies: masculine and feminine; hot and cold; the sun and the moon, through morning classes of restorative yoga and Sun Salutations and afternoon classes to honor the feminine with MoonShine and Moon Salutations. Practicing Pranayama or breathing techniques on every class, introducing Mudras or hand/body gestures to work our system in certain way.
Beginners Program
A friendly, informative introduction to yoga. Reviewing basic, 84 postures and breathing techniques in a fun, non competitive enviroment. Great for beginners and those who want to delve deeper into yoga philosophy. Hatha Yoga session in 6 Weeks, covering the 5 elements:
  • 1. Asana (physical postures)
  • 2. Pranyama (breathing techniques)
  • 3. Mudra (hand gestures)
  • 4. Bandha (locking postures)
  • 5. Chakra system
Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra is deep relaxation with an inner state of awareness. In the state of Yoga Nidra the consciousness functions at a deeper level and the subconscious and the unconscious realms of the mind are more open. Yoga Nidra has been found to reduce stress, tension and anxiety; is beneficial for insomnia and to calm symptoms of chronic pain, headaches, depression, high blood pressure, heart disease, autoimmune disease, helps to balance the Sympathetic and Parasympathetic Nervous Systems and has been shown to help those in recovery from addiction. It is said that 1 hour of Yoga Nidra is equivalent to 4 hours of sleep.
Infused Yoga
Ganesha Yoga is taking a step forward in deepening the practice with introduction of Doterra Essential Oils.

Aligning and re-tuning your own vibrations and frequencies is a process of turning inward. It's an intimate and private matter, and it's success depends solely on your efforts.

There is a subtle bio-energy that flows through all organic life. It goes by many names and is sometimes referred to as Chi, Ki, Prana or life force. Chant Meditation
Chant meditation is the simplest form of meditation, using Japa Malas (Rosary). It is known to have transcendental qualities. It can bring peace and balance to the meditator’s system and is known to relieve people from numerous physical and mental ailments when practiced regularly.
  • Chanting of Mantras purifies the environment around the chanter and produces positive vibrations
  • It takes you to alpha, a meditational state which gives you deep relaxation. Your concentration and focus increases
  • Chanting removes negative mental impressions from your mind
  • It gives you better immunity and health
  • Improves your voice, gives strength to vocal cord and thyroid gland
  • Has a cardiovascular benefit and normalizes blood pressure
  • Helps with emotional regulation

Pranayama - Correct breathing and learning the breathing techniques

Mudra, Bandha
Mudra. You can make these hands in such a way that if you move it here, you can make something happen somewhere else and pinpoint it wherever you want it, because these hands are the instrument to everything. This is like the control panel to everything. If we learn to align ourselves with the universal geometry, we can download the entire cosmos.

Bandha. There are 3 principle bandhas in the body, and a fourth that ties them all together. The ancient yogi philosophers said, and I concur, that when you master the locks, your master the yoga practice, the practice on the outside -- floating in and out of asanas, holding for long periods of time, and managing new positions - and the practice on the inside - consistent single pointed concentration, steady and long breath, and a calm, clear mind.

What philosophy do you live by?

A wise man once said, "The World is Your Oyster, Let’s Make Lemonade" :)
So I did. More than a year ago I started this journey, that I like to call Dharma, with the intention of no intention. I wake up in the morning and I breathe in yoga, walk with yoga and speak yoga. I meet new yogis everyday and I’m grateful for every minute of their time spent in my class. I bow down to every sun ray, every moon shine and every drop of rain or snow storm, ’cause all these help me to mold myself as a Yogi , as a partner, as a mother and as a human. This is not an episode or intermission or transition, this is Life becoming Yoga! Namaste!


I just want to let everyone know that the 6-week beginner program is absolutely amazing!!! Even if you haven’t done yoga before, this will get you the motivation to get into it. If you have done some of it before, this will give you more in-depth knowledge about some of yoga philosophy, and you’ll get a chance to explore why yoga may be the right path for you. In the 6 weeks that flew by, I have already begun to notice some changes with my posture and flexibility. I feel so much better because it has become more of a routine for me. I Crave yoga!!! And Maria is by far - the best instructor I've ever had!
